Episode 2: The Richardson Family, Adopting a New Outlook

Same-sex couple, Renee and Kate’s life changes more than they could imagine when they decide to adopt through the foster care system. Their dream of adopting one child over the age of ten quickly shifted to adopting two sets of younger siblings with very different backgrounds, including trauma and special needs.

Expert Insight: Scarlett Bell Moore, an attorney specializing in Child Custody, with an 18-year affiliation with the Department of Social Services in South Carolina, shares insight on how difficult decisions are made to terminate parental rights in the interest of a child.
