Local area grants Supporting grassroots organizations that make a difference

The New York Life Foundation not only takes a national approach to our funding priorities we also value the work and support of local and grassroots organizations making a difference in our communities. With that, we offer two Request for Proposal funding opportunities; one in each of our focus areas. Plus, at times, providing funding for special initiatives—check back or sign up to receive notification about these opportunities.

Aim High

The Aim High program is a part of the New York Life Foundation’s ongoing investment in out-of-school time programs to help underserved middle school students become better prepared for high school and beyond.

Since 2016, the New York Life Foundation has partnered with the Afterschool Alliance to administer the Aim High competitive grant program.


This competitive grant program includes both one- and two-year grant opportunities. At New York Life, our mission starts with the responsibility to provide financial security to families and businesses across the country. And that care extends to our people, our communities, and our governance.


Grief Reach

The New York Life Foundation partners with the National Alliance for Grieving Children (NAGC) to administer the Grief Reach grant program, a competitive grant program that supports organizations serving bereaved youth and their families. Grief Reach’s Spring cycle is now open.

The Love Takes Action Awards program enabled New York Life employees and financial professionals to nominate extraordinary individuals serving their communities in response to the pandemic, raising $1.75M in grants.
