New York Life partners with Pasito to bring AI-powered clarity to benefits decisions.

Many employees still struggle with determining which benefits are right for them.

NEW YORK - New York Life Group Benefit Solutions (NYL GBS) today announced a new partnership with Pasito, a leading benefits experience platform offering AI-powered decision support and personalized employee benefits communication, to help employees navigate the complexities of benefits selection.

Employees continue to face growing confusion when it comes to their benefits. In fact, according to the 2024 BEAT Study by LIMRA and LOMA, 56% are unsure whether supplemental health benefits — like accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity — are even offered by their employer. And among those who do have access to these benefits, only 43% say they understand them well.

“This partnership further underscores our focus on providing planning and education tools to support employees, making benefits easier for all,” said Kristina Welke, Vice President, Strategy, Solutions, and Marketing at New York Life Group Benefit Solutions. “It also marks the additional expansion of our comprehensive enrollment technology ecosystem, better enabling us to deliver simpler, more connected experiences and resources that put employers and employees at the center.”

“At Pasito, we are dedicated to empowering employees and their families to not only access their full range of employer-sponsored benefits but also to maximize the value of their benefits,” said Pauline Roteta, Pasito’s founder and CEO. "We are proud to partner with New York Life to further enhance our mission.”

The offering with Pasito gives employees a consistent, unified benefits experience — regardless of carrier — making it easier to access and engage with their options throughout the year. Key features include:

  • All-in-one portal: A mobile-first, employer-branded platform that centralizes all benefits — medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, disability and voluntary — within a single, intuitive interface.
  • AI-powered setup: Automatic benefit plan building, content summarization, Spanish translation, and communication campaign creation to eliminate manual data entry and simplify implementation for HR teams.
  • Personalized decision support: Proactive data-driven benefit recommendations, cost modeling and plan comparisons powered by predictive analytics and a proprietary rules-based engine.
  • Targeted communications: Customized email and text alerts by employee segment, location, and generation, with year-round benefits education.
  • Human Resource Information System (HRIS) integration: Real-time connectivity with over 200 HR systems, including ADP®, Workday®, and UKG©, to support daily census updates and streamline new hire onboarding.

For the 2025 enrollment period, NYL GBS clients who meet eligibility requirements and agree to participation criteria can access Pasito’s benefits decision support platform at no cost for one year.

“When people understand their benefits, they make better choices for themselves and their families,” Welke said. “This partnership gives employers a powerful way to simplify the process and support smarter decisions — without adding more to their plate.”

“Employers invest an average of $25,0001 per full-time employee on benefits each year, yet without effective communication, that value is often lost," said John Locy, Executive Vice President and Head of Partnerships at Pasito. "To truly realize the impact of that investment, employees need clear, personalized guidance that helps them understand and make the most of their benefits.”

This partnership builds on NYL GBS’s expanding suite of successful digital tools, including solutions like myBenefitsAssistantSM, which helps employees choose the right supplemental health coverage for themselves and their families.
