Mark Madgett is Executive Vice President & Head of Agency in charge of New York Life’s career Agency distribution system, which comprises approximately 12,000 Agents affiliated with 116 General Offices across the country, as well as the business units that provide strategy and support for the Company’s Agents and field managers. He was appointed to New York Life’s Executive Management Committee in December 2015.
Mr. Madgett joined New York Life as an Agent in 1986. He entered management in 1992 and became Managing Partner of the Seattle General Office in 1998. Under his leadership, the Seattle General Office grew to become one of the strongest agencies in the Company and a perpetual leader in Agent retention, among other areas. As a Managing Partner, Mr. Madgett was a widely acknowledged leader among his peers and was twice elected to serve as Chair of the Managing Partners Advisory Council and to represent field management on a number of important projects and pilot programs. Mr. Madgett joined the Home Office leadership team and was named Senior Vice President in September 2014 and assumed leadership of the Agency Department in January 2016.
Mr. Madgett is a lifetime member of the Partner’s Round Table and previously served on the board of the Moyer Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports children and teens who are grieving a loss.
Mr. Madgett earned a degree in business from St. Mary’s College in California, where he currently serves on the Board of Directors.
