Four of the company’s senior leaders participated in feature discussions that offered insights into the many ways that New York Life is enabling business transformation.
Enhancing the purchase experience
Senior Vice President and Head of the Purchase Experience Amanda Kuhl shared her vision for modernizing the insurance buying process. She emphasized the importance of integrating digital tools to create a seamless and personalized customer journey. Kuhl discussed how leveraging data analytics and user-centric design can simplify complex products and reduce friction for clients and underwriters throughout the onboarding process.
Investing in insurtech innovation
Tim Del Bello, managing director and head of investments at New York Life Ventures, provided an overview of the current venture capital landscape. Del Bello explained how AI is becoming a critical driver for insurtech startups and their corporate investors, emphasizing AI's transformative potential to reshape traditional insurance processes. He also highlighted the team’s strategic focus on startups building innovative solutions to enhance user experiences and create operational efficiencies.
Prioritizing compliance in a digital world
Sandi Tillotson, senior vice president and chief compliance officer, provided insights into the collaborative efforts underway with regulatory AI company Norm Ai to support compliance practices at New York Life. Forging strategic partnerships
Director of Business Development at New York Life Ventures Caitlin Herling spoke on fostering partnerships between traditional insurers and tech startups. Successful collaborations, she said, often depend on clear sponsor involvement and ongoing, mutual understanding of strategic goals – not simply financial investments. These partnerships are key to driving innovation and meeting the evolving needs of policy owners at New York Life, Herling explained.
