INNOVATION
New York Life | June 17, 2026
New York Life’s chief information officer discussed responsible AI adoption, business innovation and the future of customer experiences.
Deepa Soni, executive vice president and chief information officer at New York Life, recently joined executives from across industries at the first-ever TIME100 AI Leadership Forum in New York City. The forum brought together leaders in business, technology, health care, media, and policy to explore the opportunities and responsibilities that come with AI’s rapid advancement.
Soni participated in a discussion focused on AI-driven business leadership and the ways artificial intelligence is reshaping the business landscape, the workplace and customer expectations.
For New York Life, Soni said, AI is a “strategic enabler” that is helping the company address business challenges in new ways.
“There are actual business problems that we can solve now with AI that we could not before,” Soni said during the discussion.
She also emphasized the company’s people-centered approach to innovation, calling AI a “human amplifier” that can help employees, agents and advisors focus more of their time on serving clients with insight, speed and care.
That perspective reflects New York Life’s broader innovation agenda: becoming a tech-enabled, data-driven and AI-powered company that can deliver faster, smarter and more responsive experiences. As the company embraces AI and other emerging technologies, its priorities remain clear — delivering seamless experiences, providing unparalleled value, and doing so ethically, securely and in ways that reflect New York Life’s values.
