Sejal reflected on her own career journey and how technology is evolving during a Girls Who Code event.
As part of New York Life’s ongoing partnership with Girls Who Code (GWC), Sejal Chandak from our Technology, Data, AI, Ventures team recently participated in a virtual College Loops Leaders Fireside Chat. GWC is a nonprofit organization that works to close the gender gap in technology by offering programs that inspire, educate, and equip girls and young women with skills in computer science. The session brought together student leaders from GWC’s college-based “Loops” chapters to empower and connect women across the country pursuing careers in technology.
Throughout the conversation, Sejal shared her professional journey — from launching her career as a software developer at Accenture to leading cross-functional teams, managing business applications and working on AI-driven projects at New York Life that enhance efficiency and deliver measurable impact. She spoke about the transformative role of artificial intelligence, automation and data in shaping modern business decisions, and how collaboration across diverse teams drives meaningful results.
Reflecting on her experience, Sejal told the group, “AI, data and automation are transforming the industry — not just in how we use technology, but in how we make smarter, faster business decisions. It’s about leveraging innovation to create real impact.”
New York Life’s continued engagement with Girls Who Code reflects the company’s broader commitment to empowering women in technology and fostering a diverse talent pipeline. Through initiatives like this session, and previous events such as the Girls Who Code “Tech Tour” at the Home Office, New York Life strives to inspire, educate and equip future leaders to shape the next wave of innovation.
