Alex Cook, Senior Vice President and Head of Strategic Capabilities, was recently featured on a Digital Insurance Innovator podcast episode titled “Transforming Digital Engagement and Buying Experiences for Consumers.” The conversation focused on New York Life’s modernized digital capabilities that are transforming the life insurance sales and purchase experiences to the benefit of both consumers and the company’s financial professionals.

As Cook explained, this innovative work further enables New York Life’s financial professionals to deliver effective solutions, advice, and guidance to clients aided by digital tools, and improves the life insurance purchase experience by leveraging electronic health data and advancing accelerated underwriting efforts.

Also focused on increasing opportunities for ongoing engagement with policy owners and beneficiaries, Cook offered the example of New York Life’s concept partnership with Empathy, a platform that helps families navigate the logistical and emotional journeys they face after losing a loved one, and that is now available to New York Life beneficiaries.

As Cook highlighted, “Our value proposition is financial security and peace of mind. The core solution that we offer – life insurance – is something you buy because you love someone. Focusing on the beneficiaries of our life insurance is an important part of delivering our value proposition.”
