AnitaB.org’s “Top Companies for Women Technologists” is a benchmarking program that specifically evaluates the technical workforce and awards companies that are making progress toward intersectional gender equality.

New York Life’s support of women technologists is wide-ranging. Driven by a commitment to closing the gender gap in technology, New York Life is a Girls Who Code sponsor and works closely with workforce development organization Year Up. The company is also a longstanding participant in AnitaB.org’s annual Grace Hopper Celebration, the world’s largest gathering of women technologists who work together to achieve gender and pay parity in tech. 

Additionally, New York Life’s employee resource group The Women’s Initiative, which includes a Women in Tech group, informs, connects, and empowers women by providing inclusive networking opportunities, leadership opportunities, professional development, and community outreach to enhance career growth. The company’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Center for Awareness & Advocacy (DE&I Center) supports New York Life’s inclusive culture by further integrating DE&I into the company’s approach to educating, engaging, and developing employees.

New York Life also recently ranked among the "Top Employers for Tech Talent™ and held the lead position within the insurance industry based on findings from Everest Group. The independent research firm identified those U.S. companies with the best perceived ability to recruit and retain highly coveted software engineers and other tech talent. Everest’s rankings aimed to spotlight organizations that are perceived by their tech employees as successfully creating the culture, trust, and environment they want and need in an incredibly competitive race to hire and retain the best of the best.
